Da Kost of Kickin It Krazy

Da Kost of Kickin It Krazy

Okay so let me just rant to allow for the ridiculous cost of participating in any sort of motor cross sports. What is it like one bazillion dollars for the bike helmet and gloves the boots the gear. And they were we supposed to ride. Pay some sort of fee to get into some kind of park. Go to your buddies house who actually has property that you can Tara. I mean whose parents actually can afford to let them just destroy their acreage. Just for some fun recreation.

I mean is this sport for rich kids or what? I’ve been riding my old thrashed gear for three years now. I don’t dare to buy anything new. My boot to tear up my gloves or disgusting. Now I’m just kidding. I never even touched a motocross bike. But that’s what I’m always wondering. One time I built a Motocross track over my septic tank on the property!

What is life like for pro rider? What is life like for a amateur writer? What is it like for someone isn’t even amateur just wants to do it looking for place to ride it’s just mind blowing. I mean going to play soccer all I got to do is get a five dollars soccerball at Walmart.

I wish – Need I remind You

How are these kids doing it?

Okay so now you spent a bazillion dollars getting everything you need just to get started. So what comes next? Risking your life risking breaking your neck risking breaking your legs risking losing your legs. Maybe it’s the same, maybe it’s having the courage to do something that a lot of other people are too afraid to do. Maybe it’s just really being high up in the air. Maybe it’s the thrill of almost dying almost dying.

<<Sniffle>> Wowzers!

Oh and not to mention the hundred degree temperature where most desert area tracks actually exist. And on top of that how many degrees do you add packing up and all that motocross gear.

I got to give it to you motocross guys must really love what you do because I don’t know why elseyou would risk so much suffers too much just to do something that seems so crazy.

Motocross Helmets Save Lives

Motocross Helmets Save Lives

Before we get into anything else, let’s lay the ground rules. I have personal reasons to be an advocate of protecting your noggin.

When you’re looking for motocross helmets you got to think about a lot of things. You got think about how hot it gets. You got to think about how heavy that helmet is. And if your gonna break your neck just because you are trying to protect your skull and your brain. There’s no reason to go through all the brands of helmets out there. The best ones are the best ones and the cheap ones are the cheap ones. You can get a used one if you don’t mind another rider’s sweat. Actually it’s not that bad of an idea to get a used helmet – just clean it up really well. Motocross helmets can cost a lot of money- in fact all motocross gear is a total rip off when you think about it.

I mean you have got to buy gloves, pants, shirts, boots- all kinds of stuff . It definitely ain’t easy being a poor kid trying to ride motocross. But the one thing it’s super foolish to go without is a helmet. I think good boots are probably second. Helmets are a big deal (get schooled HERE) because you look through them you breeze through them and they keep your brain intact and keep your spine from breaking when they’re not too heavy. Riding a dirtbike has a lot to do with balance and being able to focus. You don’t want to worry about your helmet yanking you around or blocking your vision or making it hard to breathe. it isn’t easy to find a helmet that’s the right size and the right fit. A lot of people spend a lot of time and a lot of money trying to get helmets just right. It’s hard to know where to buy the best motocross helmet. It’s hard to know what is the best motocross helmet brand also. It’s actually kind of ironic how much of a headache finding a good helmet can turn out to be. Now style, color and designs- all that’s a whole other problem. There’s nothing worse than your buddies giving you grief all day long because your helmet looks silly. I don’t know why people care about that stuff. I mean aren’t we just supposed to do tricks and hit jumps. I guess you got to do what you got to do to lay low. Maybe just stick with something a little bit neutral like black. And try not to get any kind of artwork that’s easily dated so people are taking cheap shots at how old and broke your helmet looks. You can always straight represent witcho G-cap on the cheap.

Motocross Helmet Head Alternatives

But in spite of all that it still got to be just right. You don’t want to feel all sweaty all the time. You don’t want your peripheral blocked. You don’t want to feel like it’s suffocating you . There’s a lot to think about when you look for motocross helmet. Maybe try on one of your buddy’s . Or borrow someone else’s nasty sweaty stinky helmet and take it home for a little while and see if it works out. Your motocross helmet is a big deal . You got to get it right. I don’t know… It’s pretty important though. You’ll figure it out. It’s cool to be safe yo!

One time I went to a professional motocross riders house. He had his entire backyard turn into a dirt track. He had ramps everywhere. He had foam pits and several bikes.

He had also invited over several other rider friends. What I saw was amazing and terrifying. They were flipping and jumping letting go of their bikes almost completely kicking their legs over the handlebars. The tricks that they were doing were just ridiculous. I cannot believe what they were risking. And I wanted to myself just if it was actually worth it. How much money were they making doing this kind of thing.

Ridiculous was the word that kept coming to mind. Not that I think they’re ridiculous necessarily but it became sort of a new slang word for me. A word that describes how awestruck I was but what they were doing. I wondered if these people have families or children. I wondered if after all they were doing and how hard they were trying they could even actually make a living at it.

And if the people riding out there actually just waiting for the turn to compete and even after they competed not going anywhere or receiving any reward for what they were putting themselves through.

It was obviously very physically taxing. I can imagine that any of them went you’re even a year without breaking a bone or pulling some sort of muscle or being bedridden for a couple of days. I would describe the sport as out right deadly. Which is intriguing. So many young people are interested in it and take it up and further so many parents seem to allow them to you.

So what is obsession with high-risk action sports. I guess risking a lot has always been a thrill for people. And that’s what draws crowds.

Stay Safe!
